These Terms reflect the current app and publisher information. The sign-up screen links to them but does not record explicit acceptance. Confirm the final legal wording and live account deletion behavior before release.
About these Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the AuraStudy mobile application and this AuraStudy website (together, the “Service”). The Service is provided by Jonas Coleman (“AuraStudy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), based in Ghana.
Please read these Terms before using the Service. If you create an account or use the Service after these Terms are made available to you, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms do not replace any rights you cannot waive under applicable law.
Our Privacy Policy explains how the Service handles account, study, and image information.
Eligibility
The Service is intended for users worldwide and has no country-based eligibility restriction. You must be at least 13 years old, or meet any higher age required to consent to this Service where you live. We do not impose a separate parent-or-guardian consent condition under these Terms. You must still be legally able to use the Service where you live. AuraStudy is intended for personal study planning; it does not verify enrolment at an institution.
Your account
You need an active account to use the planner. AuraStudy supports email and password with email verification, and sign-in through Google or Apple where those options are available. Some sign-ins may require another email verification step. After sign-up, you must provide a display name, institution, programme or field of study, study level, and semester or term to enter the planner.
Provide accurate account details, keep your credentials secure, and tell us at buildwithcole007@gmail.com if you believe your account is being used without permission. Your account is for your own use. A session that has not completed its required sign-in steps cannot access your planner.
Using AuraStudy
AuraStudy lets you organise courses and weekly class sessions, tasks and due dates, calendar activities, academic details, and selected programme or course covers. It can display recurring class sessions, overdue tasks, course progress, and study streaks derived from completed Study tasks and study sessions. You may choose a profile photo, export a selected class setup as a file, and import a class setup you receive.
Check class times, dates, deadlines, tutors, rooms, and imported details against your institution’s official information. Automatically displayed schedules and due states are planning aids, and may be incomplete or out of date if your entered information is wrong. If you enable selected notifications and grant device permission, AuraStudy schedules local alerts for upcoming classes, activities, task deadlines and study streaks; you can choose reminder times. A generic push may announce changes made on another device when Plan updates is enabled. You can review upcoming reminders in the app. Device settings, connectivity, battery restrictions, or an out-of-date local plan can affect delivery; check your official schedule and deadlines yourself.
The Service needs network access for sign-in and saved changes. We do not promise offline write synchronisation or immediate updates across devices already open at the same time.
Your content and class setup sharing
You keep any rights you have in the course information, schedules, tasks, activity details, academic details, profile photos, and other information you provide (“Your Content”). You grant AuraStudy a non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, display, and transmit Your Content only as needed to provide, maintain, secure, and support the Service. This licence ends when the relevant content is deleted, subject to legal or technical retention requirements. A custom profile photo is served from a public image URL, so anyone who has that URL may be able to view it.
If you choose to share a class setup file, it can include a title, timezone, semester dates, course names, course codes, credits, and weekly session details such as times, tutor names, and rooms. The file is sent through your device’s share options to recipients you choose. You are responsible for deciding what to share and for having the right to share it. By sending the file, you permit its recipients to use those shared details for their own study planning. Their copies and imports are outside your AuraStudy account; deleting your copy will not recall files already shared.
The class setup export is designed to leave out your profile details, tasks, activities, and account identifiers. Review the file and recipient before sharing, especially if class details are confidential or subject to institutional restrictions.
Acceptable use and technical limits
Use the Service lawfully. Do not access another person’s account or data without permission; interfere with the Service; bypass its authentication, ownership checks, or rate limits; or submit information you have no right to use or share. Do not use automated requests to overload photo search or other endpoints.
The current photo service allows up to 8 searches per minute and 60 per hour per account, and 12 cover selections per minute. A class setup file is limited to 512 KB, 32 courses, 64 weekly sessions per course, and 512 sessions in total. AuraStudy may reject requests that exceed these enforced limits. Provider availability and quotas may also affect photo results.
Images and third-party services
Cover suggestions come from Unsplash and AuraStudy’s curated image collection delivered through ImageKit. You choose a cover; searching does not automatically replace one. Unsplash photos remain the work of their photographers and are shown with links to photographer and source credit. Choosing a cover for display in AuraStudy does not transfer ownership of the photo or give you rights beyond those available from the source. See the Unsplash License if you plan to reuse an Unsplash photo outside the Service.
Clerk handles account authentication, Supabase stores planner data, and Google or Apple may handle an identity sign-in you select. Your use of a Google or Apple account, external photo links, and the device share sheet may also be subject to those providers’ own terms and privacy practices. Third-party services can be unavailable or change independently of AuraStudy.
Fees
The current Service has no paid plan, checkout, subscription, or in-app purchase flow. These Terms do not create a payment or renewal obligation. If paid features are introduced, their price and payment terms must be presented before any charge.
Our materials
Except for Your Content and third-party materials, AuraStudy and its licensors retain their rights in the Service, including its software, design, artwork, name, and branding. We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive right to use the Service under these Terms. Do not copy or commercially exploit our materials without permission, except where applicable law permits it.
Sign-out, deletion, and access
You may stop using AuraStudy and sign out at any time. Signing out does not delete your account or saved study data. Profile includes a confirmed Delete account control. When its server request succeeds, it deletes your Clerk identity and your saved AuraStudy profile and study records from the active database. Limited event records and a deletion marker remain to prevent a delayed event from recreating the account. The current deletion function does not remove custom profile photo objects from public image storage or request deletion of PostHog records; provider backups and files already shared with others may also remain. Access to the private planner depends on an active authenticated session. We may disable access to an account when reasonably necessary to address a security risk or a serious breach of these Terms. If your account is disabled through the authentication service, access ends. If you believe a restriction is an error, contact buildwithcole007@gmail.com.
Service disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a timetable, deadline, imported class setup, or selected image will always be accurate or available. Nothing in these Terms limits warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, AuraStudy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from the Service, including missed deadlines or lost study data. AuraStudy’s aggregate liability for claims related to the Service will not exceed GH₵200 (two hundred Ghana cedis). This section does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or other non-excludable matters under applicable law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We will post the updated Terms with a new effective date and give any additional notice required by applicable law. Changes apply prospectively from their stated effective date. If you do not agree to an update, stop using the Service.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, without overriding mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. You may email buildwithcole007@gmail.com first to try to resolve a concern informally; this is optional. Subject to those protections, disputes may be brought before courts of competent jurisdiction in Ghana.
